Happy Holidays!

Hi Everyone, I wanted to start off by wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season, and all the best wishes for a happy New Year! It was quite a hopping year, a busy repair shop, new bikes going out the door, and awesome rider counts on both our Wednesday and Thursday night rides, so I wanted to thank everyone for keeping us in mind when it comes to their cycling needs, and joining us on our rides this summer!
As far a holiday gifts go, we have a nice selection of Chain Reaction Woolies in both Moltini (Orange/Navy Blue) and black in stock, along with some new custom socks, knit caps, and TSL snowshoes ($130-$180), so if there are any last minute gifts that need to be picked up for your favorite cyclist/s, come check us out! :) Otherwise, take care everyone, and enjoy the snow!! Cheers!-Niki

Chain Reaction Swiftwick Socks

Hi Everyone, these are the socks we are having done by Swiftwick Socks! These are 200 needle count socks, with a cushion foot bed, compression cuff, and channeled upper so there's less bulk in your shoe. Also, they contain 80% nylon, 15% Olefin (retains less than .01% of its weight in moisture, and resists deterioration from chemicals and perspiration), and 5% spandex. (So these bad boys will last longer) They are expected to arrive the end of November, and will come in S, M, L, and XL's. -If anyone has any questions, or would like me to reserve a pair or several for them, let me know! Cheers!-Niki

Senate Bill 265

Dear Wicsonsin IMBA Member, IMBA and the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin have an important request. We have an excellent opportunity to improve Wisconsin's non-motorized trail system but we can't do it without your voice and support. Please support Senate Bill 265 which creates a new $10 million funding source (or 1% of state motor fuel taxes) for maintenance of non-motorized trails. Without strong and immediate public support, this bill will likely die in committee. Take Action! Attend the public hearing and voice your support of these three bills, especially SB 265, and/or contact the Senate Committee members listed below. Two other bills are also being considered that will positively impact the Wisconsin bike experience: SB 266 and SB 264. See below for more information on all three Senate Bills. What - Public hearing before the Senate Committee on Transportation, Tourism, Forestry and Natural Resources When -10:00am, Thursday, September 17th Where - Wisconsin State Capitol, Room 300 SE Contact these State Senators to voice your support for SB 264, SB 265 and SB 266: Senator Jim Holperin (Chair) Sen.Holperin@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266-2509 Senator Glenn Grothman - Sen.Grothman@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266-7513 Senator Neil Kedzie - Sen.Kedzie@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266-2635 Senator Joseph Leibham - Sen.Leibham@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266-2056 Senator David Hansen - Sen.Hansen@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266- 5670 Senator Jeffrey Plale - Sen.Plale@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266 7505 Senator Jim Sullivan - Sen.Sullivan@legis.wisconsin.gov , ph: (608) 266-2512 Senate Bill 265 Funding for Non-motorized Trail Maintenance Senate Bill 265 would create a much needed funding source for the maintenance of Wisconsin's non-motorized trails. The bill would allocate $10 million or 1 percent of state motor fuel taxes, whichever is less, to be spent on the maintenance of non-motorized trails. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources would administer the program in manner similar to existing programs that support motorized trails. This bill would grant local nonprofits and governments money to maintain existing non-motorized trails. The bill was supported by the Special Committee on Enhancing Recreational Trails for Non-motorized Use, and it has received support from the horseback riding community and the Bike Fed. A strong public show of support is needed for this bill to have a chance at passing. For the full text of this bill click here.(PDF file) Senate Bill 266 Non-motorized Recreation and Transportation Council Senate Bill 266 would create a council dedicated to non-motorized recreation and transportation. This bill is predicted to pass, and is worthy of your support. For the full text of this bill click here. (PDF file) Senate Bill 264 Trespassing Penalties for off-road motor vehicles Senate Bill 264 aims to discourage trespassing of off-road motorized vehicles on non-motorized trails and properties. This bill is also likely to pass, and is worthy of your support. For the full text of the bill click here. (PDF file)

New rider on the block!

Niki,

On Monday July 13, my daughter and I were in the shop and bought her first bike helmet. You were busy and the young man helped us out.

Since getting her helmet, she just does not want to take it off. She wore it out of the shop and now all she wants to do is ride her 2 wheeler.

Here is a photo for you, if you want to post it feel free.

Thank you,
Robert Olson

New Chain Reaction Jerseys & Shorts!!!!!

Hi Everyone! So we're placing the finishing touches on new jersey's and shorts for this year. We'll be offering two fit styles this year, both race and club cut, both are available in shortsleeve and sleeveless. We've had a few requests for long sleeves as well, we just need to have enough requests before we order them, 10 would be awesome! Regarding the fit, if you like the fit of last years jerseys, that was club cut. This year we'll be offering bibs shorts, along with womens specific shorts, and an upgraded chamois in both. We have our name in to reserve a "race fit" fit kit in both mens and womens sizes, so as soon as those are available and on the way, we'll let everyone know. We're hoping to have all orders in place by mid February, to have them by mid April. If anyone has any questions, please give me a hollar at the shop, or send me an e-mail! :) 733-1141 ; nikibikeshop@sbcglobal.net

Stay warm everyone!! Cheers!-Niki
